I spent Bnd 1,000.00 yesterday. Actually it was B$1,100 but Bi offered to pay B$100.00
No....its not on LV bags nor shoes, nor jewelries.........
Its for my Silvia......the tires are so worn out. It was so bad that virtually, there is no tracks on it anymore. It was so smooth. Not even suitable for drifting, not that I know how to.
It's expensive I know. But then what other alternatives do I have? At least its worthwhile. I finally found the choice of the tyres that I wanted. The cheapest 225/40 that was available was in Hock Tyres, costing B$ 185.00 per piece. But I was not that keen on it as it was Good year eagle and its made in Vietnam or Indonesia. The European made ones cost about B$ 300++++, so that is out of the question. I made that inquiry over a month ago and when I finally went there yesterday to change it, they had sold out!!!! (Its a blessing in disguise as I don't really trust Indonesia tyres le)
Then I found Bridgestone costing about B$ 265.00 per tyre at one shop somewhere in Gadong. But its not the right model but it was the right size though. (I wanted Bridgestone Potenza G3 coz it was that model that I used on my 1330 and its damn good, even on wet roads. I have not skidded once, even while driving 160 km/h when raining.) So I told them I would consider it and went off.
We were both tired and hungry as we had brunch with some friends in Excapade. According to Bi, his arm was aching as well from all those lifting of my car door, hahaha. So after an early dinner (actually wanted to go eat at Andaman but I accidentally guided Bi to Indaman, so silly of me) Bi and me decided to go to one last tyre shop near my house. Of all the places that I went to, this little shop has Bridgestone and the right model and size as well......and its B$ 240.00 per tyre. Made in Japan again le. Considering 17" for the same model is B$195.00, this is consider quite cheap. A definite must buy!!!!!
Although it was nearly 6pm at that time, they still went ahead to change the tyres, did the tyre alignment and chamber. We were there until about 7pm plus.
But the money and the time were well spent. Coz not only did I get the brand, model and size that I wanted, it was made in Japan again le. Not to mention that the right rear tyre no longer rub against the fender when there are any bumps in the road.
So without the annoying sound, my ride is definitely more enjoyable now. Think about the grip....I can now drive at 180 km/h comfortably!!!! Ahhhh.....now that is money well spent.
