Its all about the hair

Who has fine and limp hair will understand my woes. I have oily scalp and dry ends. Since I am doing some sort of sports everyday, I wash my hair twice daily. Its a must for me to wash my hair in the morning before I go to work or even go out. Since I have very oily scalp, my roots will be oily when I get up from bed. Putting the issue of washing your hair daily aside, I also have a lil (actually its quite a big) problem with tangled hair in the morning as I tend to toss and turn around when sleeping. So every night before sleeping, I will plait my hair. Nothing fancy. Just a loose plait so that my hair wont be all tangled up. And it works! No more tangled hair in the morning!!!!  Not back to the fine and limp hair. I have very little hair and not to mention flat. No volume at all, NADA, NIL!!! Some people actually asked me whether I rebonded my hair. No I did not. Its just so flat. When I blowdry my hair, I dun need a comb even, I just simply swing the hairdryer around an...

Muesli for a healthy breakfast

Just started following a different lifestyle this Monday. (Whoa!!! Has it only been 4 days?) A low carb, low fat, high protein and high fibre diet. I cut out rice, noodles, kueh tiaw, meehoon, tang hoon, lau shu fun, bread, biscuits, keropok, chocolates and most importantly, no more sweet drinks even 100+ or even Pocari or Revive.  It's not very very very hard but I do get cravings for carbs sometimes. The trick is to keep yourself full so you wont feel hungry at any point in time. So you wont be tempted to take those simple carbs. Even fruits you have to be careful as they have high sugar content. Fruits like mangoes, bananas, apples, oranges, watermelon, durians, etc should be taken in moderation. A great idea for a healthy breakfast is muesli! I saw muesli being sold in Supasave but have never really taken a good look at it. It was Bi who told me that his colleague was eating this every morning and she lost a lot of weight that I started to take some interest in...

Something to cheer you up on a Monday

So sweet right? My bibineh knows some of the trick as well. I wish that my future kids will have a chance to know Bibineh as well. Wish to know more about Shih Tzu? I read up when I brought Bibineh to Bandar to stay that time. Caring for a dog is not easy. Do not treat him as a past time. They need a lot of TLC and time. If you can't afford the time, do not get a dog. Bibineh has been with me since 2001. Yeah you read that right, 2001. To date Bibineh is 11 years human age. Here are just some recent shots taken by Galaxy Note. I should probably compile all pictures together for Bibineh since he was a baby. Like koko like bibineh. This is how Bi and Bibineh sleeps together Tired Bibineh and me taking a rest together Such a poser!!!! Trying to act all emo and cool Random photo taking but Bibineh looks so cute here Bibineh saying 'Hi' to his new friend, Bibineh The Hamster Like I said, such a poser.  Bibineh and Bibineh the ...

Running

I first started running (I mean seriously la) was back in early March. Coz my good friend asked me whether I wanna join the SCB Charity Run which was on 8th April 2012. I thought why not since I wanna lose weight and plus its for charity. Originally she wanted to join the 10km run but on the day of the online registration, she said her other friends changed their mind and they were going for the 5km run. Hmmm......till today I dunno what came over me, I told her to go for the 10km run as we can easily do the 5km run. Lets challenge ourselves and stupidly (as per her) she agreed and thus my journey began. All I did was run after work. I went online and searched for programs that might help me accomplish my goal. I found the couch to 5k program here if anyone is interested. (Actually I had printed out the program and stuck it on my cubicle wall a couple of months before.) I had always wanted to start running as I have seen the results on both my papa and my bro. To say that they...

My first 10km run

So the big day is finally here. The day that I have started running for. The Standard Chartered Charity Run 2012!!!!!!! The night before I was pretty nervous. I could not really sleep. There were so many things to prepare for the run. I got my clothes ready. I had to transfer my running songs to Bi's nano coz no way am I gonna carry kick ass huge Samsung Note while running and no way am I gonna just hold the phone in my hand. So I had to transfer the songs from my Samsung Note (which I normally use while running on the treadmill) Then getting all the things ready such as my clothes, the bib, the tag, the extra clothes, sunblock, etc. I went to bed at around 12:30am and I toss and turned, toss and turned! Even when Bi came to bed around 2:30am, I was kinda semi-awake. I had set the alarm at 4:45am. So the next thing I heard was the alarm ringing. I thought to myself "Here goes nothing!".  I tried to eat some bread and drank a cup of hot milo. It was very h...

My first 8.59km!

I was very worried on whether I will be able to finish the SCB 10km run on 8th April 2012. My previous record was around 6km. But for the past week or so, I wasn't even running up to 4km! That's because I have Zumba class on Tues and Thurs and on Mon, Wed and Fri, I have badminton and after badminton, I cant run 5km. So on last Friday, I told myself that I have to run at least 6km on the threadmill. But when I reached 5km, I wasn't tired at all, so I told myself try to run 5.5km, then when I reached 5.5km, I would try 6km and so on and so forth. By using this method, I ran 8.59km nonstop! I shocked myself even and I felt so proud as it wasn't that long ago that I could not even run for 5 mins straight. I maintained a constant speed of 6kmh. I couldn't run very fast still. When I was doing the interval training, my fast speed was 7.2kmh.  I find that by maintaining a slower speed, I could actually run more, which is by far the better. This is for...
