Leg injuries and infections!

I fell and hurt my shin about a year ago. It happened when I was climbing those stairs on my way to work and somehow I kicked the steps and hit my right shin on the edge of those pebbled staircase. It hurt so bad at that time that I couldn't even straightened my leg. Tears was threatening to roll down my face, but when I saw my colleagues, I sucked all my tears back in and forced myself to continue walking to my office (which luckily wasn't very far) This is how it looks like when I reached my cubicle. Doesn't look too bad right? Just look like I scrapped it. I used Detol antiseptic cream and just moved on with my day. The worst is not here yet!!!! This was at the height of my injury! Looks so scary isn't it? The wounds was infected! I thought that it was a simple scrape! By chance, I was feeling really unwell a few days after I fell down and went to the doctor. The doctor took my temperature and told me that I was having a fever and he took a look at my l...

My first Half Marathon!

Never in my life had I ever thought that I would complete a Half Marathon. I remember a few years back when a colleague was talking about his experiences for Half and Full marathon, I was so impressed. Who would have thought that I would have completed a Half marathon? hahaha.  Prior to the race, I was extremely nervous as I did not really train for this HM (half marathon), plus I had walked for a whole 2 days in Singapore prior to the race. Imagine that sore feet plus over eating (cant help it, too much good hawker food in Singapore) Sibeh nervous face! You really have to plan properly on how to get to the race location. I have slight idea on how to get there. Taxi! However, I did not know that there were rehearsal for Singapore's national day going on too. So the taxi route did not go down too well as there were many roads that were blocked! After some discussions with the taxi uncle, he dropped me off at Bugis MRT, which was the most direct and fastest rou...

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year 2015! Another year has come to an end. 2015 is awaiting you with even more warmth and happiness! I have been with Fitwellness since Oct 2014. It has been a lovely journey and have never regretted it! Who knew I had it in me to do 19km? Ultimate goal for this year is to run a 42km marathon in Singapore! This is my transformation so far! My face is not so round anymore and my clothes are getting more and more loose! I have progressed from half dead from running 8km to feeling I could run more on a 8km run!  Although my transformation is not as drastic when compared to others, I believe that I will get there....slowly but surely. So what are your goals for 2015? Mine are 1. Get my fat level down to 15% 2. Complete Sundown marathon - 42km 3. Be kinder to all Milestones will be like  1. Eat less processed food  2. No sweet stuff 3. Do not miss workouts 4. Do my morning workout I don't always update my blog, s...

Me Before you - Jojo Moyes

Have you read 'Me before you' by Jojo Moyes? If you haven had the chance to read it, you should. This is not a book of romance. It is not a light hearted romance. Its more about two person meeting at the wrong time. I couldnt put it down after reading the first page.  The excerpt from here. They had nothing in common until love gave them everything to lose . . . Louisa Clark is an ordinary girl living an exceedingly ordinary life—steady boyfriend, close family—who has barely been farther afield than their tiny village. She takes a badly needed job working for ex–Master of the Universe Will Traynor, who is wheelchair bound after an accident. Will has always lived a huge life—big deals, extreme sports, worldwide travel—and now he’s pretty sure he cannot live the way he is. Will is acerbic, moody, bossy—but Lou refuses to treat him with kid gloves, and soon his happiness means more to her than she expected. When she learns that Will has shocking plans of his own...

No expectations, No disappointments

UBD Green Run 2014

I haven been running since like forever! I think ever since my wedding back in January 2013, I seldom even run and its not as if I'm that good a runner. I registered for the 5km run together with Bi for the UBD Green Run on 14th September 2014. All in the name for recycling! Like I said, I haven been running since before my wedding. So, off I went for some 'training'. By training I mean just go running on the treadmill lo. Luckily we have a new gym now at Building 4, the treadmill is fantastic! ZZZZZZZ, I can barely run 2km! Talk about being a bad runner. I think I ran about 3 times before the actual run. All within 3km or 4km. On the Run day itself, we woke up at about 4:30am (Bi said to me this will be the first time and also the last time he will join me) Arrived at UBD before 6am and quite surprisingly there were not that many people. Sky turning light Not a lot of people around Waiting for warmups! Before the run. Still looking ...

Tips and Props for Pre Wedding Shoot

Who doesn't want to look their best for their pre wedding shoot? So here are some personal tips for ladies who are going for their pre wedding shot 1.Go for facial prior to your actual pre wedding shoot. Do not ever go the day before the shoot as you never know how the facial will provoke a breakout (that will be the worst nightmare) 2. Get plenty of rest before the shoot as you will want to look refreshed. 3. Before the shoot, be sure to tell your MUA and the photographer on what are your expectations are and what are the locations that you might prefer. 4. If you want your photos to be more personalized and not so mainstream, you will have to do some research and bring your own props. Here is a picture of my props. I have my piggies, K & J for Kenny and Jennifer, some signage, hand made windmills, hand made cutouts (from Ning), my wedding invite, bubbles (from laura), my "Getting Married" sash (from Genie), my lolly (all the way from Singapore thanks ...

Pre Wedding Shoot at Santiago Bridal House in Miri

My Pre-wed shoot was in December 2012. Given that my wedding reception was on 19th January 2013, it was kinda rushed. But the Bridal House that I signed up with really came through for me. I signed up with Santiago Bridal House in Miri, Sarawak back in May 2012 (if I remember correctly).  I actually wanted to sign up with Frozen In TIme Bridal House but then....oh well, its just not meant to be. I e-mailed Frozen in Time and the person in charge (whoever that was) replied saying that they have an exhibition in Boulevard Shopping Centre at a certain time and asked me to have a look there in person as they will be able to share more things with me. They did not give me the time that they will be closing. So end up, Bi and me reached there around 5pm on a Sunday. I was under the impression that Frozen In Time is the only Bridal House having an exhibition. But oh boy, was I wrong. It was a Bridal Exhibition, meaning that almost all the Bridal House in Miri was there!!!!! And t...
