Ever since the Singapore trip (which I haven blogged about), I have very little personal time. And this Sunday is 1st day of Chinese New Year! Time passes by so fast, its un believable. But I'm glad that I feel that this year has past me by so fast. This means that I had things to do, things to buy, books to read, lami to play, badminton to play...... You know what I mean rite?
I just finished reading this book. "The Lightning Thief" by Rick Riordan. Its a great book......for children or otherwise. It certainly kept me entertained throughout. There are some books which started out great but my interest waned before mid-book. So yeah...if I have time tonight, then I'll definitely start reading on the 2nd book tonight.
This series of books is something like Harry Porter except that its more about the greek gods, like Zeus, Hades, Poseidon. Greeks mythologies are one of my greatest interest. Even from a young age, I love to read about how the Earth have different seasons. It is Summer becoz Persephone is back with her mother and for the rest of the time she is with her hubby Hades. Its very interesting how the different elements are explained by the activities of the different gods. No caps for G coz this is not "God", the almighty.
On another note altogether, I accompanied Bi to eat Soto last night. No, I only drank apple juice, din eat anything at all. Anyhow, while we were there, the TV was switched on to Nickelodeon and the cartoon is gross.
It has a monster which hold its eyes with its arm stretched up and got hairy armpit some more. Sigh!
I just found out that the cartoon series is called 'Ahhh!!!Real Monsters' Wiki link here.
I wonder how did such programs get aired and kids actually watch these type of cartoons? Same thing like that cartoon from Cartoon Network 'Cow & Chicken'. Its horrible! What are the kids learning from these shows everyday?
If I have kids, I'll lock them up and not let them watch TV till they are like of legal age.....haha, just kidding. But seriously, the cartoons (or animes) that I watched from before are like Dragonball, Sailormoon, Poli (the super pig). I find it all a bit educating, coz its essentially teaching us about good and evil. (to me la)
