I have no mood to study for my CPA. This feelings come from different mixture of events. I have a colleague, who is totally hate-material, you know...those type that is practically screaming 'Hate me, hate me' Arghhh, she disgust me. She is the boss's pet. The thing is that she cant even do her job properly. She just pushes all her work to her colleague and pretend that she is very busy everyday. She gets to study her CPA during office hours and the thing is that she dared to call me up and enquire me of my study progress and when I said that I wasn't making much progress, she laughed and said she haven been studying as well (we all know it's so not true, ask anyone from the bandar office and they will put you straight). She also asked me how am I gonna sit for the exam.........she is such a terror in our office, since she likes to spy on everyone and reports back to the bosses. Sigh.....if she is reports actual things that really happen, so be it, but she is actually reporting degrading things about people that are totally false. Please do not think that I am just saying these things about her, anyone of her colleagues can be an eye-witness, she has no friends in the whole of office. She wanna compare with me, but I have no intention of competing with her. She has so much more time than I do. Life is so unfair isn't it?
Bi got a job in Bandar. That is great, I just hope that there will be no problem with the work permit as he is currently on temporary work permit that is only valid for 3 months. Now that leads me to another topic. He grew up in Brunei but he is not eligible to apply for permanent residency. Even is we are to marry, it wont help his application as the wife is the one with the PR status instead of the husband. Come to think of it, I am born in Brunei and my parents are born in Brunei as well, but I am only a PR. If we want to be citizen, then we will have to go sit for the test, which test you on the country's knowledge and as well as the traditions. If a PR or a citizen marrys a wife, whom is a foreigner, she will get their PR/citizen status after a few years. How can this be? How can a foreginer who marry a local (the husband must be a local and the wife a foreigner) and they are at the same status and get the same benefits as someone who is born in the country? It is a well known fact that there are some ladies who marry the locals here are only for the benefit of getting a PR/citizen status here. In addition, those foregin wives can work in Brunei without the hassle of getting a work permit, apparently their spouse can sponsor them. Mind you, this method won't work if the wife is a local and their husband is a foreigner. Once again, life is unfair isn't it?
Arghh....at least Bi getting a job here is a good news. I hope that I will get some news from the jobs that I applied as well. hehe. So at least we will both be working in Bandar.
Although there are many things that I feel is unfair, I still have a lot to be thankful for. I have my family and friends who are there for me when I am feeling stress and down.
Sigh, I gotta get back to pretending to study, if not, Bi will be on my case....
